SC Health Policy Network

The South Carolina Public Health Institute is actively working to engage state and local leaders throughout South Carolina in the development of effective policies that improve health.  In seeking to achieve this goal, SCPHI is currently developing a network of partners that can work with us in educating leaders to consider the short- and long-term health implications of all policy actions.  The provision of evidence-based information that serves to shape policy decisions is a vital link to improving the public’s health.  Through the formation of the SC Health Policy Network, SCPHI seeks to become the central, recognized resource for policy makers in obtaining objective health-related information.  A further objective of SCPHI is to establish a role for the Institute in training leaders across our state in effectively addressing health issues in the process of policy development. The ultimate goal of this effort will be to shape policies that enable South Carolinians to achieve better health.
